Adult Pertussis
Adult pertussis may be more prevalent than you think
- CDC estimates that as many as 600,000 cases of adult pertussis may occur in the US each year [1,2]
- Within 2 years of the introduction of Tdap vaccine, an estimated 2% of adults aged 18–64 have been immunized with a Tdap vaccine protecting them against tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis [3]*
*Based on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention National Immunization Survey–Adult, 2007.
